I was born and raised in France where I studied business at Dame Marie Les Lys School. I now am a proud citizen of both France and the United States, and a resident of Oregon since 1994 when my husband, Randy, and I returned to Portland and bought our first house.
The learning experience of being first time home buyers changed the course of our lives. For the next ten years, we continued to invest in real estate; buying a house each year, while I maintained my career in Human Resources as a negotiation and recruitment specialist with companies such as Chart House and Pinkerton Security. Eventually, I decided to merge my passions for real estate and training. Then with my real estate license in hand, applied my organization and negotiation skills to the business, rapidly becoming a top producer. I also taught classes to first-time buyers and investors. Now I enjoy spending fifty percent of my time in my cabin at Mt. Hood and enjoy helping people to find their dream retreat spot.
In early 2008, I started working with some of the major employers in the Portland area, helping them with relocation of their new hire employees. I love relocation because it allows me to develop relationships with people along with the pleasure of welcoming them to the city. I appeared on the HGTV show, Good Buy Bad Buy, in 2009; an experience that entailed a lot of work, tons of fun and the creation of many good memories. Since 2012, I have been selected as a Portland Five Star Real Estate Agent, an honor bestowed on fewer than 7% of the real estate agents in the Portland area based on feedback from clients, peers and industry experts. In 2016, I was recognized as a member of the PMAR Masters Circle Diamond Level.
I still invest in real estate and like to share my knowledge with others. I work mostly by referral and teach by request only. I give a lot of my free time to various volunteer and professional organizations and donate a portion of my commission to the local Big Brothers/Big Sisters organization. I’m honored to have been chosen as Big Sister of the Year in 2008.
Referrals from past clients have helped my business grow steadily over the years. Along the way I also have mentored some of my first-time buyers to become investors themselves, creating a strong support and networking system that is still in place today.
My love for the real estate business remains strong….
Oregon and Washington Dual Licensed Real Estate Broker
I moved to Portland for law school and never looked back. I grew up in California's Central Valley and spent summers in the Pacific Northwest visiting family. Enchanted by the natural beauty of the area and Portland's hip urban scene, I knew that I would some day find a way to move here.
I attended undergrad at UC Davis and studied International Relations and Environmental Policy Analysis. I then earned my J.D. from Lewis and Clark Law school and focused on Environmental Law. I'm now a licensed attorney.
People often ask me why I went into real estate after law school. In a short answer, I love the flexibility that being my own boss affords me and I love real estate. Nothing makes me more happy than working with wonderful clients and helping them to find a place to call home. Also, so much of what a real estate broker does involves the skill set of an attorney, such as dealing with contracts, negotiating, and interpreting regulations. My background gives me the experience that allows me to provide a superior service to my clients in all aspects of the real estate transaction.
In addition to spending 7+ years of my life studying environmental policy and law and working in various environmental nonprofit and government fields, I have earned the Green Designation from the National Association of Realtors, I'm an Earth Advantage Broker and Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) Specialist, and I'm also a Real Estate Ally with Energy Trust of Oregon. In 2016, I was honored to be selected as an industry expert in green building and serve as a Broker Advisor to Earth Advantage. So please feel free to ask me about sustainable building practices, energy efficiency, and design.
In my free time I enjoy taking my little dog Matisse on hikes and working on an entrepreneurial project or two.
Real Estate Assistant
Randy is a key player to keeping things running here at O&M and we are so lucky to have him as a member of our team. He assists with all facets of the real estate transaction and keeps the operation running smoothly. His sense of humor and warm personality can put a smile on anyone's face.
My name is Rosy and I'm the newest member of the O&M team. My previous owner expected me to be an outdoor guard dog, but that is just not my personality. Sylvia and Randy rescued me and I'm much happier now. I love to go on walks and to greet you at the door with my duck toy. I'm extremely sweet and love to take naps with Pearl, my cat friend. But don't expect me to take one step outside in the rain. I hate the rain! Please stop by and say hi!
Hello I'm Matisse! I became part of the O&M team when Emily rescued me from the Oregon Humane Society. I am from Baldwin Park in Los Angeles County and arrived in Portland as part of a second chance program. I love it up here with my new family. I assist Emily with her real estate activities and in my free time I love to go on walks around the neighborhood and on hikes in Forest Park and the Colombia Gorge. I love doing tricks for chicken treats and getting my tummy rubbed. If you would like to rub my tummy please contact Emily.
